WHATS GOING ON IN THE ART DEPARTMENT?

All Art students started the year off by exploring and reflecting on the concept of, WHAT IS ART? Great discussions were had by all!
Drawing classes are busy doodling, and looking at the work of Keith Haring.
Mixed Media is experimenting with watercolor, plastic, thread, crayons, etc... an
Pottery 1 is busy making stamps and getting ready to make Olla's. We are very excited to have potters from Mata Ortiz visiting us, and showing us just exactly how they make their beautiful pots.
Adv./I.B./A.P. Pottery is working on powerpoint presentations! Students will reflect on what inspires and informs their work. Students have also started working in their Investigative Workbooks, which document their journey and exploration this year.

I am so excited to be back, and to have all my students, both old and new! Thornton High School has wonderful students, who create amazing works of Art!
